Emily Marguerite Emond (b. 1996, Baltimore, MD) earned her BFA in Studio Art at the University of Central Florida and her AA in Art at Broward College.
Using photography as an experimental springboard she makes work about her epilepsy and neurosurgery, approaching it in a documentary manner with personal tones. Emond has experimented with photography, video, installation, and mixed media to deliver her message while keeping to a limited black and white color palette with minimal extra color to keep to "cold hard medical facts" and the simple facts of this life.
She creates this work to start an educated conversation about epilepsy, both its scientific side and its emotional one to increase awareness within the community.
Emond currently lives and works in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA.
